Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort Wedding | Paradise Valley, AZ | Jeremy & Terah
Oh man, where do I start with these two? Well I guess we should start from the beginning. Terah found me by chance through a hashtag on instagram in January of 2020 (thank you insta!). Little did we know that the world was soon going to be flipped upside down and a lot of their original plans were about to change. We met to tour their original venue in early March of 2020. I had only spoken with Terah over the phone up until then, but as soon as I met these two, I was smitten. Terah and Jeremy are what we photographers call dream clients. They were in love, relaxed, and had a beautiful vision for their big day. They’re that couple that to know them is to love them. When we finished oohing and awing over the venue and shooting spots we picked out, we left thinking we’d be having a wedding a few months later in July. Fast forward pass the mess of 2020. After a number of date changes, we finally set a date for March 7, 2021, and even though we had a few hiccups and were forced to be flexible for over a year, their wedding day could not have been more perfect. When Terah told me they had booked the Sanctuary on Camelback, I may have let out a squeal and done a dance and thankfully there were no witnesses. The resort is tucked away on Camelback Mountain and overlooks all of Paradise Valley. With only the light from the ranch homes and villas in the evening to illuminate the valley, the view from the reception reminded me of a coastal European town, quiet and peaceful, a perfect backdrop for their celebration.
Now for the good stuff. Terah and Jeremy decided to keep their wedding small and intimate, only surrounded by family and a few of their closest friends. We spent the early afternoon getting ready and soaking in the day. The sweet couple opted for a first look before the ceremony and then I got to steal them away for a few portraits on a nearby lawn with that glorious backdrop of the valley. As guests arrived, they were greeted with cocktails and music from the string quartet. I may be a bit biased, but it was a beautiful group of people and the energy and joy everyone had for Jeremy and Terah was contagious. Their ceremony began when Jeremy came out to the tune of “All of the Lights” by Kanye West played by the quartet and I am now fully convinced that everyone should hire a string quartet to usher them down the aisle. The two exchanged some of the most beautiful vows I have ever heard. Terah’s sweet words were written with a fluidity that sounded like poetry and Jeremy didn’t leave many dry eyes as he poured out his heart for Terah and for their sweet little baby girl that will be arriving in September. They were pronounced husband and wife and we made our way to their reception. The room had floor to ceiling windows that slip open completely allowing the mid 70 degree breeze to dance through the space for the rest of the evening. Terah and Jeremy continuously floated around the room that evening, sitting at different tables every now and again to chat with friends and family, reminiscing and connecting with each of their guests. Now, remember how I said to know these two was to love them? That isn’t just my biased opinion because they’re my sweet couple. Watching the way these two were celebrated, hugged, and loved on all night was tangible proof of how cherished they are. The joy that everyone had for this union was so evident. From listening to the speeches to hearing about how far some of their friends and family traveled to come for this special day, it was without a doubt that these two were surrounded by people that treasured them. The evening was ended with conversation, cake, and coffee, and many more hugs and “congratulations.” To be able to document their love and this wedding was truly an honor and a pleasure and I cannot wait to see how they both continue to write their love story.
